About

An advisory practice, not a call centre

Harborlight is a small St. Petersburg firm carrying nine lines of coverage under one advisor, funded entirely by carriers, and built around a rule that nobody is asked to sign in the first meeting.

Why it exists

Rosalía started Harborlight after fourteen years inside two large carriers, where she spent most of her time explaining to people why the plan they had been sold did not do what they had been told it would do. The pattern was always the same. Nobody had asked for their prescription list. Nobody had checked their cardiologist. Somebody had led with a premium.

The practice is built to make that impossible. Every appointment starts with two lists, doctors and prescriptions, before any plan is named. Nothing is recommended until both lists have been run against the actual plan documents. If the honest answer is that the plan you already have is the right one, that is the answer you get, and the appointment ends with nothing sold.

We are independent. We are not employed by, owned by or captive to any single carrier, and we are not paid more to place one carrier over another on the same line.

Our guidance is provided at no cost to you. We are compensated by the carriers whose plans we place, never by the people we advise. That is not a promotion and it does not expire. Carrier compensation is built into the filed premium, which means the plan costs exactly the same whether you enrol through us, through a different agent, or entirely on your own. What differs is whether anyone checked your cardiologist first.

Six things we will not trade away

Education before anything is named

Every appointment starts with two lists, doctors and prescriptions. No plan is mentioned until both have been run against the actual plan documents, because a premium tells you almost nothing on its own.

Nobody decides in the room

You leave with a printed comparison and the time to think about it. A decision made under time pressure in somebody else's office is not a decision, it is a close.

The whole market, or say so

We are appointed with multiple carriers on every line we sell. Where our panel does not cover something, we say so and point you somewhere that does.

Free means free

No fee for a first meeting, an annual review, an appeal, a tier exception, or a phone call in February when something goes wrong. Not reduced. Zero.

Bilingual as standard

Appointments, enrolment meetings, plan summaries and paperwork in English and Spanish, and an interpreter arranged for a seminar on three days' notice.

The answer is sometimes do nothing

A meaningful share of our appointments end with the client keeping the plan they already have. We would rather have that referral than that commission.

Licence numbers shown on this site are obvious placeholders for a demo website. A real agency would show its state licence number and National Producer Number, which you can verify with the state regulator. Read what each designation actually certifies.

Four people, one phone number

Who you will actually speak to

Small enough that you get the same person each time, and that someone answers when a claim is denied in February.

Twenty minutes with someone who will ask for your doctor list before naming a plan. If the right answer is the plan you already have, that is what you will hear.
